Another pioneer in one-design sailing, the Butterfly sailboat has a scow type hull with a single centerboard and an LOA of 12 ft. Now built by Windward Boatworks, it was originally designed by John Barnett in 1961 who was inspired by a desire to create a smaller version of the C Scow. This lively little boat is known for its colorful hulls and mainsails. It is very popular among casual sailors and racers with a special concentration in youth sailing. However, its 15″ deep cockpit make it comfortable for adults to single-hand. The Butterfly has a strong class following, and its audience can stay current on class events, most notably their annual National Championship, via its Facebook page.
The Butterfly class has earned a loyal following among both racers and recreational sailors, and a well-built sail is key to getting the most out of your sailing experience. We hand craft custom Butterfly sails that enhance performance, hold their shape, and bring out the boat’s speed and responsiveness. From youth sailors to experienced racers, our sails deliver the consistency needed for everything from casual days on the water to competitive events. Whether you need a replacement mainsail or want a performance upgrade, our sails combine durability, precision, and standout style.
